Within SEDS Sri Lanka chapters, divisions are not just administrative groups — they are learning ecosystems. The division structure was created to ensure that technical innovation, outreach, and organizational sustainability grow together rather than independently.

This division was formed to balance two important goals: building technical capability and maintaining operational continuity for long-term chapter success.

Why This Division Was Created

Student space organizations often struggle when technical development and management activities are separated. Technical teams sometimes lack real-world project management exposure, while operational teams may lack technical awareness.

This division was introduced to solve that gap by creating a collaborative working model where:

• Engineering development is aligned with outreach and sustainability goals
• Students gain both technical and leadership experience
• Projects move smoothly from idea to implementation

The philosophy behind this division is that space innovation is not only about building systems — it is about building teams capable of sustaining innovation.
